Position Details:Title: BoilermakerLocation: Elko, NVTravel: Travel is required for this position to customer sites with out-of-area and possible overnight travel expected.Shift: Full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. This position regularly requires long hours and travel work as job duties demandCompensation: $35 – $45p/h DOEQ with overtime (regular hours are 06:30 AM – 2:30 PM, usually 2 hours overtime a day)Benefits: Company offers a full benefit package which includes Holiday pay, 401K, Medical and Dental, generous vacation (PTO) and room for advancement.Job DescriptionThe Boilermaker is responsible for comprehending and utilizing blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals, work process instructions to install, repair boilers, pumps, burners, and other pressure vessels. The boilermaker welder collaborates with the end users, contractors, authorized inspectors, and equipment engineers. Custodian of company truck, tools, equipment, and supplies.Essential FunctionsAbility to perform all job duties of craftAbility to test and inspect boiler systems for leaks or defectsKnow when to stop work for misinformation, safety concerns or any other reason that would create a risk to oneself, a team member or damage equipment.Ability to read basic blueprints, read and understand craft specs, craft spec procedures and recommendationsMust be certified in the 6G welding positionCapable of performing maintenance on boilers, pumps and auxiliaryReplace or repair valves using hand and power tools, and know the correct installation based on the orientation.Inspect assembled vessels and individual components, such as tubes, fittings, valves, controls, and auxiliary mechanisms, to locate any defects.Troubleshooting of valves, motors and safetyInstall manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, and feedwater connections in drums of water tube boilers, using hand tools.Repair and/or replace refractory, gaskets, parts, and miscellaneousCollaborates with sales and service team to increase the sales of our boiler productUnderstand the requirements of ASME Code repairs and its impact on inspections, welding, welding procedures and material control.Capable of identifying potential problems when lack of water treatment isCapable of reading and understanding mechanical drawings and the ability to make modifications to the equipment per these drawings.Capable of pipe fitting to ASME, NBIC state and localEvaluate basic boiler room systems (steam and hydronic), gather information, and help solve problems.Ability to produce detailed but concise daily work orderMust have good knowledge in appraising the customer's service needs for the repair of various products including boilers, pressure vessels, burners, boiler accessories, and other heat producing equipment.Some in-house and formal factory training will be provided on a scheduled basis, but you are expected to seek the necessary level and frequency of training from the company's resources to become proficient in these areas.Required Education and ExperienceCompleted High School diploma or equivalentTwo years of technical school, community college or trade school or related experience in boiler repair/welding a plus but not requiredComputer knowledge a plusPipefitting experience is a plusCompetenciesStrong sense of urgencyAvailability to work overtime and occasional on call shiftsA superior level of customer service that promotes goodwill between the company, customer, and other associates.Excellent written and oral communication skillsWorking knowledge of and familiarity with computers, MS office, familiarity with smart phone, internet, and email functions. Must be able to use a keyboard to enter dataAbility to pass a background check for access to government facilitiesA driving record that is in good standingBe fit for a Access confined spaces.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in internal and external environments which may include inclement weather conditions.
