Job Description:
BookkeeperTuxedo Park, NY$60,000 - $80,000Responsibilities:
  • Record Financial Transactions: Accurately record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, into the appropriate accounting software or ledger.
  • Maintain General Ledger: Keep the general ledger updated with all financial activity, ensuring that debits and credits are properly recorded and balanced.
  • Reconcile Bank Statements: Regularly reconcile bank statements with the general ledger to ensure all transactions are accounted for and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare Financial Reports: Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to provide insights into the organization's financial performance.
  • Process Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including issuing invoices, processing payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Assist with Budgeting: Collaborate with management to develop and monitor budgets, providing financial data and insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant financial regulations and ensure compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Support Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate financial records and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Handle financial information with discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Run Payroll:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks,
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
