The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington (BGCSW) is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, year-round Bookkeeper position!Representation Matters! POSITION TITLE: Bookkeeper REPORTS TO: Director of Finance and Administration STATUS: Full-time Hourly/Non-Exempt MISSION STATEMENT 'To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.' GENERAL SUMMARY Provide accounting, finance, and administrative support to the Director of Finance and Administration; assist BGCSW leadership team as outlined in the job responsibilities below; and perform other duties as assigned. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESACCOUNTS PAYABLE & RECEIVABLE
  • Input invoices received and payment requests into QuickBooks; prepare biweekly check run
  • Mail bill payments and file payment material
  • Reconcile monthly expense accounts and draft YTD Club programs and operations statements.
  • Collect monthly inventory and USDA activity data
  • Distribute and reconcile monthly credit card statements
  • Collect monthly grant activity data; prepare monthly grant claims; reconcile grants receivable account
  • Assist in managing vendor relationships
  • Administer courier service to the bank
  • Review daily bank deposit activity
  • Prepare bank reconciliation statements and draft investment summary
CLUB REVENUE RECONCILIATION
  • Collect and prepare weekly deposits from Club operations
  • Collaborate on weekly MyClubHub membership receipting
  • Review monthly Club membership activity and reconcile with QuickBooks reports
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures with ACDS/membership
PAYROLL & BENEFITS
  • Prepare and file payroll twice monthly
  • Analyze payroll data using PayCom metrics
  • Ensure payroll compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Manage enrollment in health and insurance benefits
  • Enroll team members in Simple IRA when applicable and prepare monthly reports for submittal
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Pass a National Criminal, Social Security, Local Criminal and National Sex Offender Registry Background Check - Required
  • Pass a Credit Check annually - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with coursework in accounting/finance and/or business operations
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably Quickbooks
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications with emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Solid written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent customer relation skills and ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurability
COMPENSATION
  • $22.50 - $24.50 per hour
  • Full-time Hourly, Non-Exempt
  • 3 weeks of Paid Time Off and 12 Holidays per year

WORK SCHEDULE
  • Must be available to work 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
