Job Description:
FULL CHARGE BOOKKEEPER Our client, an agriculturally focused construction contractor, is searching for an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper. Reporting directly to executive management, the role is responsible for maintaining the company's financial resources and supporting the company's operations. Experience in Quickbooks (Desktop), Payroll, Inventory, and Job Costing is highly desired. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing process, including preparation of financial statements and general ledger entries, account analysis and reconciliations ensuring consistency
  • Perform accounts receivable and accounts payable functions; maintain related files, including preparation and/or input of customer invoices and cash receipts and input of vendor invoices and preparation of cash disbursements.
  • Preparation of weekly payroll for non-union employees, including payment of various tax and benefits on a weekly / monthly basis as required.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual payroll tax and information returns (W-2s & 1099s).
  • Perform inventory control.
  • Coordination of tax reporting requirements with external accountant to file Federal and state corporate income tax returns and property tax returns.
  • Assist in directing corporate insurance policies with administration of audits, claims and manuals.
  • Assist with development and administration of employee benefits.
  • Maintain employee files and records, including tracking vacation time and missed days.
  • Maintain employee handbook.
  • Managing advertising and marketing with newspaper publications and radio advertising.
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical functions and completion of special projects as requested.
Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of the agricultural industry, especially grain farming and its seasonal nature is a plus.
  • Minimum of a 2-year accounting degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience in a full charge bookkeeping function including financial statements, job costing and payroll.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; ability to convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks Enterprise, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team as required.
  • High integrity; possess behaviors and traits that exemplify high moral character and instill trust.
