Summary The Bookkeeper is responsible for ensuring finance operations are running smoothly and is responsible for preparing financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field OR 5+ years related experience; OR any combination of these.
  • 3 + years experience with MS Excel including pivot tables and vlookup
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Sound judgment and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and follow-through skills
  • Have strong internal and external client-focused behavior
  • Must be able to lead, coach, and guide the staff in workflow procedures
  • Must be proficient in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Must have great attention to detail and have demonstrated organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Office software applications
  • Must have advanced excel skills including pivot tables and vlookup
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and perform simple calculations involving decimals and simple fractions
Essential Functions
  • Print and process checks
  • Mail signed checks with supporting documents, generate check register in Epic
  • Approve ACH drafts as needed
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the agency and its accounting services.
  • Troubleshoot producer/broker commission reports.
  • Reconciling direct bill commission transactions
  • Communicate monthly with producers/brokers by providing the statements via email.
  • Process digital bank deposits (~3-4 times per week).
  • Reconcile employee credit card statements and submit them to our accounting service for payment each month.
  • Reconcile the Company's credit card statement and submit it to our accounting service for payment each month.
  • Manage Company and Producer licensing and appointments
  • Process all ...@jones.com emails and forward to other staff as appropriate.
  • Collect, compile, record, or otherwise gather data and prepare standard and custom reports with information necessary for decision-making
  • Weekly and monthly Leadership team reporting
  • Work closely with the Leadership Team on special or miscellaneous projects as assigned
