GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Performs responsible clerical and bookkeeping work involving the preparation and/or maintenance of fiscal or related record. Does related work as required. Work is performed under the supervision of the Controller.
TYPICAL TASKS:
* Performs all Accounts Receivable functions to include gathering and process billing information after verifying client hours, timesheets and workbooks, preparing/mailing invoices, post cash receipts, and necessary follow up.
* Process garnishments and W2s.
* Maintains payroll files.
* Verifies timesheets for accuracy and ensuring all deadlines are met.
* Process United Way deductions and track pledges.
* Verifies deductions entered by Human Resources.
* Compiles and distributes monthly financial reports to supervisors and directors.
* Verifies and enters the cash deposits prepared by Receptionist/Accounting Clerk.
* Prepares and enters journal entries into the computer.
* Prepares payroll by including the following functions: timesheet export, payroll file changes, process payroll and leave balances.
* Gathers, assembles, tabulates, checks, files, and enters financial data from the contractors into the computer for in-home, adult daycare, and legal clients.
* Maintains office furniture inventory.
* Performs additional tasks as required.
* Maintain spreadsheet for In-Home Services, cost sharing agreements, and referrals.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
* General knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, and procedures.
* Versed in routine accounting principles/procedures, standard office procedures and practices.
* Must comprehend and follow oral and written directions, establish, and follow detailed work procedures, post accounts, compute mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and use of web-based software programs which emphasis on spreadsheets
* Operate a variety of office equipment.
* Ability to practice good professional judgment and work independently.
* Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other professionals and associates.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* A Bachelor's degree with at least (3) years of accounting office experience is required.
* Acceptable criminal background check and substance screen
* Must possess a current valid Virginia Driver's license, and meet the agency driving eligibility standards
