Job Description:
Note - This is an in-office, Part Time position expected to work 25 - 30 hours per weekPurpose:The Bookkeeper will support our Resource Development, Marketing & Communications (RDMC) department by maintaining detailed financial records, analyzing program effectiveness, and providing key financial insights to support fundraising and marketing initiatives. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful reports for stakeholders.Essential Functions: Include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Prepare and analyze profit/loss statements for various RDMC programs and initiatives
  • Calculate and track Return on Investment (ROI) for fundraising campaigns and marketing efforts
  • Create detailed financial reports to support grant applications and donor reporting
  • Monitor and reconcile fundraising revenue accounts and campaign-specific expenses
  • Maintain accurate records of donor contributions and generate necessary tax documentation
  • Process accounts payable related to marketing and communications expenses
  • Prepare monthly budget variance reports for RDMC department leadership
  • Assist in creating financial projections for new fundraising initiatives
  • Track and analyze costs associated with marketing campaigns and events
  • Reconcile credit card statements for RDMC-related expenses
  • Support the annual budgeting process for the RDMC department
Qualifications:Required
  • Associate's degree in accounting, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred
  • Experience in non-profit accounting
  • Knowledge of fundraising metrics and ROI calculation
  • Familiarity with donor management systems
  • Understanding of marketing and communications metrics
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
  • Proficiency in generating and analyzing financial reports
  • Knowledge of basic statistical analysis
Work Environment

  • Regular collaboration with RDMC team members

Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 25 lbs. is required, with proper equipment (e.g., dolly) and safety procedures mandatory for items exceeding this weight. The role demands comprehensive visual capabilities, including close and distance vision, color discrimination, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
