We are seeking an Bookkeeper to join our team. Our Accounting Clerk is responsible for accounting functions as assigned, such as recording, reconciling, and analyzing accounting transactions, maintaining financial records and supporting the accounting department.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in month-end inventory counts, record inventory usage
  • Review and ensure house/employee/AG charges are properly documented and approved
  • Assists with the monthly close as directed
  • Reconcile house banks and cash deposits
  • Process and respond to chargebacks
  • Maintain Critical Date List, ensuring hotel licenses and permits are up to date
  • Verify all vendor and group contracts have signed vendor agreements and certificates of insurance on file
  • Reviews vendor statements and takes action for missing invoices or credit memos.
  • Multiple monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with group/banquet invoicing and collection.
  • Assist with weekly AP processing
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Daily invoicing
  • Daily point of contact. i.e. invoices, guest issues, group payments
  • Monthly reports from Opera for month end
  • AR aging reporting
  • Monthly bank audits
This is a part-time position that will average around 24 hours per week.Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facility.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • The ability to effectively deal with customers some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence and memos.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, commissions proportions, percentages and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Meets legal age requirements for the position

This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
