Position Overview:We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure the fiscal health of our growing organization. As we transition to non-profit status, this role will be crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting grant management, and providing financial insights to drive our mission forward.Detailed Responsibilities:Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks OnlineProcess accounts payable and accounts receivableReconcile bank and credit card statementsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsAssist in budget preparation and monitoringCollaborate with the Grant Funding Elective lead to ensure proper financial management and reporting of grantsSupport financial aspects of the Grant Funding Elective, including budgeting for grant proposals and tracking grant-related expensesCollaborate with external auditors for annual auditsManage payroll processing and tax filingsEnsure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulationsProvide financial analysis to support decision-makingRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a non-profit settingProficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of GAAP and non-profit accounting principlesExperience with grant financial managementAttention to detail and high level of accuracyDesired Skills and Attributes:Experience with transition to non-profit statusFamiliarity with government contracting financial requirementsFamiliarity with grant funding financial management and reporting requirementsAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyProactive problem-solving skillsCommitment to continuous learning and process improvementReporting Structure:This position reports to the Executive Director, with oversight from the Chief of Staff.Key Performance Indicators:Accuracy and timeliness of financial reportsSuccessful completion of monthly reconciliationsCompliance with accounting standards and regulationsExperience with financial reporting for startups or small businessesEfficiency in processing financial transactionsEffectiveness of financial analysis and insights providedSatisfaction ratings from accelerator participants regarding financial guidanceTimeliness in providing financial documentation for grant applicationsExpected Work Hours:Full-time, 40 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required during month-end close or audit periods.In-person / Virtual Requirements:This is a fully remote position with the option to work from anywhere in the United States.
