The 92nd Street Y in New York City is currently seeking a per diem, on-call Associate to fulfill the essential role of serving patrons at our box office during events across our four performance spaces. The position entails evening and weekend shifts on performance days, offering a diverse array of engaging events such as panel discussions, literary readings, classical music performances, dance recitals, film screenings, family shows, and lectures featuring notable figures like Andy Cohen, Martha Stewart, Josh Hutcherson, Jane Goodall, Bowen Yang, Judd Apatow, and many others.

We are seeking individuals who are responsible, possess flexible schedules including availability on weeknights and weekends, and are committed to delivering exceptional customer service. While prior experience with box office operations and Tessitura software is preferred, we also value candidates with a background in customer service or cashiering. Job Responsibilities Include
    Selling tickets to patrons in person from the box office window.
  • Distributing tickets for will-call.
  • Assisting with resolving customer and transaction issues at the window.
  • Maintaining reconciliation and post-show deposits.
  • Communicating 92NY's ticketing policies and procedures.
  • Performing additional functions and activities as directed.
Experience, Education, & Skills Desired
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weeknights and weekends.
  • Tech-savviness for operating computerized ticketing systems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during event days/nights.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the arts.
  • Prior experience in customer service or cashiering role preferred.
  • Familiarity with Tessitura software (preferred but not mandatory).
Work Environment & Requirements

16.5 hours per week, as needed

Per Diem Compensation
