Our programming serves more than 900,000 participants annually at the Museum, at the Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center, and at the 270+ outreach locations across Greater Houston. Job Summary

Assure smooth day to day operations of the Museum Box Office by providing customer service to all visitors, management of daily ticket sales, reconciliation of individual cash drawer, accurate and consistent reporting of financial attendance information, assisting with functions and events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Provide customer service to visitors; answer questions, solve problems.

2 Conduct sales of museum admissions tickets as well as tickets to special events and performances as required.

3 Reconcile individual cash drawers daily and submit to Admissions Supervisor for final approval.

4 Promote the sale of museum memberships and other special programs.

5 Assist with cross training of the other staff members in the box office as needed

6 Help maintain organization of box office area.

7 Request supplies from box office supervisor as needed.

8 Input membership information into membership database and assist membership department with mailings and events as needed.

9 Ability to commit to no less than 15 and no more than 30 hours a week

EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School diploma required; associate degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Previous box office experience a plus.

SKILLS REQUIRED

* Computer skills a plus

* Customer service oriented

* Organized and detail oriented

* Ability to work independently and supervise others

* Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish)

* Must be able to work weekends and evenings
