- The role of a Product Marketing Claims Lead is to work closely with cross-functional teams before, during, and after the announcement to craft, refine, investigate, and substantiate impactful and meaningful superlative and gen-over-gen claims that can be used to drive awareness of competitive advantages we bring to our customers in press decks, customer presentations, and events.
Responsibilities:
- Own, drive, and manage Business Personal Systems (BPS) Commercial claims substantiation process from planning to execution and delivery phases, including legal approval.
- Work with cross-PL Claims Managers to identify opportunities to create and amplify broader claims for competitive advantage.
- Seek insights, including research-backed facts and statistics, used to influence internal decisions through insight-driven innovation and set a fact-based background for communicating Client solutions to the public.
- Provide insights from web searches, syndicated research, Client internal primary research, public articles, and other sources.
- Leverage insights tied to work trends, user habits, technology preferences, corporate IT priorities, and more.
- Provide sources for each insight and prepare reports to be reviewed by product and launch managers, as well as by the Client legal department, and to be published to the public in some instances.
- Investigate and provide substantiation for Client product claims.
- Work with NPI Leads, product managers, and engineers to understand and develop potential claims and the disclaimer under which the claim may be substantiated and then perform competitive web research and occasional exploration of competitive products and light technical testing of competitive offerings.
- Substantiation may include developing a comprehensive list of competitive offerings on a feature.
- After gathering information, the contractor may also suggest potential alterations to the claim or develop disclaimers under which the claim may be substantiated as true.
- Provide thorough documentation and sources of substantiation for each claim and prepare a brief to be reviewed by product and launch managers and the Client legal department.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven track record and extensive experience in a Global business environment with emphasis on senior-level program management, competitive research and documentation of program/project, and operations for hardware device and electronic software delivery, materials, and product release.
- Ability to efficiently manage claims approval end to end, meeting project deadlines.
- Deep knowledge and extensive experience with competitive market research
- Comprehensive understanding of legal guidelines, product classifications, and policies
- Strong consensus-building, decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- Ability to review complex data and analytics; draw conclusions and communicate strategy
- Ability to process management accountability and problem solve.
- Superior written/verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to run multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proven ability to maintain repositories and drive process and tool efficiencies
- Act as liaison between Product Marketing, GBU, NPI, and Client legal
- Experience using Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Windows Office Applications
- Embrace a growth mindset as a team player with a flexible attitude, willingness to pitch in and adjust meet complex and rapidly shifting demands and deadlines
- May be asked on limited occasions to present to senior leadership.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Master's degree or equivalent preferred)
- 5+ years of work experience in a related field
