POSITION SUMMARYIncrease sales of meat and cheeses at the deli counter through customer engagement and interaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION - Interact with customers and management in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner to generate brand awareness to increase sales
- Prepare and demonstrate new and or promoted products to store customers through sample arrangements and by demonstrating recipes using company products
- Provide excellent customer service; assess the needs of the customer to best recommend products; use product slicer to fill orders and or provide samples to customers; complete order process for purchases.
- Clean area and equipment as required by supermarket and local health code
- Maintain store shelf standards and inventory through various merchandising strategies, including but not limited to rotation of products; ensure pricing matches current promotions and current marketing and promotional materials are displayed.
- Notify management in case of an extraordinary issue, including but not limited to, quality failures and overstock
- Maintain excellent working relationship with supermarket personnel and management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of retail or face-to-face sales experience
- Personal vehicle which meets company standards for licensing and insurance
- MVR which meets Bar-S driving standards with review by Bar-S Human Capital
License/Certifications - Food handler's permit
- Driver's License which meets company requirements
Preferred Qualifications - Associates degree in Business, Marketing or related field
- Food product and or consumer packaged goods sales experience
- Route sales supervision experience in the food products industry
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA's) - Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, must be able to communicate effectively in person
- Must demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Fully fluent in Spanish
- Proven ability to motivate self and others
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Able to stand for full shift of 6-8 hours with the exception of scheduled breaks
- Can regularly lift and move 30 pound boxes/buckets on/off shelves or cart/hand truck
- Can repeatedly twist, turn, kneel, stoop, stand, rotate, bend, push or pull to move 30 pounds
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS - Able to work in a cold environment of approximately 34° F for prolonged periods of time
- Able to travel up to 90% of the time
- Able to work weekends and evenings
