Position Type: Support Staff/Food Service Date Posted: 8/6/2024 Location: Moon Area High School Closing Date: 10/04/2024 POSITION: Cafeteria - Breakfast Worker High School (6:30 am to 8:00 am) 1.5 hours REPORTS TO: Food Service Director and Manager JOB FUNCTION: To prepare, cook and serve an attractive nutritious breakfast in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School Diploma 2. Must have ServSafe Manager Certificate or pass exam before beginning position. 3. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Products and other office equipment or software / proficiency on the District administered test REQUIREMENTS: 1. Proficient in operating the Point-of-Sale System or cash register experience 2. Thorough knowledge of arithmetic. 3. Ability to keep work organized and carry out duties effectively under pressure. 4. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with courtesy and respect. 5. Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, teachers and other school district employees. 6. Ability to interact with others in the work environment, including the ability to adapt to new or different conditions. 7. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions with limited supervision. 8. Ability to be dependable, including good habits in attendance and punctuality 9. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with students, staff and other confidential information. 10. Perform physical requirements which may include: a. Lifting to 60 lbs b. Frequent standing c. The ability to withstand temperature variances common to food service facilities is required. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assume responsibility for opening the kitchen each day. 2. Prepare and cook all hot foods in a timely manner, assuring proper quality of food prepared. 3. Ensure all components for breakfast are ready and served on time. 4. Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment such as ovens and dishwasher as required. 5. Follow standards of food safety in preparing, serving, and storing food. Follow food preparation directions and HACCP regarding time and temperature. 6. Complete daily breakfast production record recording counts and temperatures. 7. Store unused food and supplies to assure compliance with health and sanitation standards; dispose of unusable leftovers and record on production record. 8. Complete breakfast section of supply order. 9. Report reimbursable meal count. 10. Maintain work areas and serving areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition. 11. Report on equipment and chemical issues in a timely manner. 12. Provides excellent customer service to students and staff of MASD. 13. Performs other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director as normally attributed to the position. TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 180 days; Hourly wage per contract EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the School District's evaluation system of support service personnel.
