Embedded within our network of affiliated OBGYN provider practices, this offers patients an intimate and familiar in-office environment, offering a convenient one stop solution for well-women visits and annual screening mammograms.Unified Mammography Services is seeking a Per Diem Float Breast Ultrasound Technologist for its Mammography offices at affiliated practices in Maryland (DMV).The Breast Ultrasound technologist works directly with the operations manager, the office manager, and any other staff assigned to the location. The Sonographer will perform clinical breast ultrasound procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics, and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the radiologist in diagnosis. A sonographer must also possess certain values and abilities, including social perceptiveness, critical thinking, clear communication, active listening, and patient problem sensitivity.Locations:Maryland, with destinations including but not limited to DC and Virginia.Work Schedule: Monday - FridayResponsibilitiesPerforming the ultrasound and ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images correctlyExplaining the ultrasound procedure to patients to avoid confusionMaintaining ultrasound equipment and sterilizing the room in which the procedure takes placeEvaluating the images for quality, and interpreting what the image capturedPresenting images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare teamMaintaining patient records and adding medical notes related to the ultrasound procedureWork closely with the Mammography technologists and Radiologist to ensure the capture of appropriate information and prior imaging.Review all prior images and reports before completing an examUtilize PACS, EMR, and any other systems related to imagingAdditional Job Functions:Attend Unified and UMAMS meetingsComplete all assigned compliance and education requirementsAssist in special projectsOther duties as assignedTraining of other technologists as neededQualificationsARDMS registered sonographerAdvanced Breast registry or eligible and will obtain within 6 months from hire date or ARRT Breast Sonography registered or eligible and will obtain within 6 months from hire dateMinimum 2 years experience as a Breast SonographerExcellent communication skills both written and oralHighly organized and detail-orientedPrevious experience working in an imaging environment is highly desirableProficient in PACS and RIS SystemsProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelCompensation MinimumUSD $45.00/Hr.Compensation MaximumUSD $55.00/Hr.
