We are currently hiring a Brewing Supervisor in Cincinnati, OH. The Brewing Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned shifts, including safety, quality, efficiency, process execution, and team development. The position is responsible for the in-specification performance of all product streams at Boston Beer and complete supervision of hourly staff. Supervises production operations in accordance with brewery policies and procedures. Also responsible for the development and maintenance of a system to ensure that all brewing products manufactured by the Brewery meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels. The Supervisor position will rotate through all shifts on a periodic schedule and is responsible for both union and non-union coworkers. What You'll Brew: People Development & Leadership: â ¢ Strong floor presence and employee-engaging leadership styleâ ¢ Demonstrate passion and enthusiastically support and drive a high-performance team environment through highly motivated, collaborative, engaged operators and leadsâ ¢ Direct Operators to perform required tasks to ensure quality brewing and blending of productâ ¢ Lead preparation and delivery of employee evaluation process and ensure alignment within the spirit of the performance management program, including new hire evaluationsâ ¢ Oversee and lead operator training and development plans and initiativesâ ¢ Work with and coach employees to improve performance and close performance issues or gaps, including monthly 1:1 reviews Process Adherence & Process Ownership: â ¢ Report, investigate and ensure accurate communication of incidents and work-related injuriesâ ¢ Responsible for shift schedule to include: workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotationsâ ¢ Ensure that employees assigned to your areas of responsibility have verifiable training and follow all Safety policies required for the processing. Observe workers and evaluate job activities to determine correct use of process and prescribed safety equipmentâ ¢ Ability to become certified in CPR and First Aid and Forklift Operationâ ¢ Perform audits to ensure consistency/repeatability and help facilitate flavor agreement across the multi-plant system, audits to include process, formulation, and sanitation practicesâ ¢ Monitoring of QA data and reporting and amends/adjusts process and formulation as needed for specification adherenceâ ¢ Participates in daily taste panel to evaluate adherence to quality specification and flavor agreementâ ¢ Recommends to Brewing Manager and/or makes improvements to machinery, equipment, processes and facilities affecting quality, efficiency or GMPs in the department. Partner with the maintenance team in planning and managing maintenance items that require downtime, line breaks, or other coordination from the brewing departmentâ ¢ Manages an effective safety program, assures all employees are fully trained and continually monitors employees to verify that all safety policies and procedures are in compliance â ¢ Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment What Ingredients You'll Bring: Minimum Qualifications: â ¢ 2+ years of proven leadership and supervisory skills/experienceâ ¢ In-depth understanding and track record of delivering operational processes that drive safety, quality, cost and delivery improvementsâ ¢ Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, Process Improvement and Process Controlâ ¢ Strong follow through, communication, interpersonal, and teambuilding skillsâ ¢ Ability to work with all levels of management in multi-functional departmentsâ ¢ Competent in using Microsoft Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPointâ ¢ Must practice safe work methods and comply with wearing and using the proper PPE 100% of the time on the floor and always work in a safe manner Level: 7 In accordance with pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role if hired is $45,900.00-$93,600.00 annually based on location and the experience level of the candidate. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. Certain sales positions are also eligible for car allowance.
