Bridge Engineer - Bridge Inspection Team Leader Position

As a Bridge Engineer at our client's firm, you will spearhead efforts to ensure the safety and durability of vital infrastructure. This role places you at the forefront of our mission, offering you the opportunity to lead bridge inspections, mentor a dedicated team, and build lasting relationships with clients.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and Inspire: Direct and motivate a team of skilled professionals in conducting critical safety inspections for bridges and tunnels. Your leadership will guide the narrative of our infrastructure's integrity.
- Expert Analysis: Dive deep into the structural heart of bridges with advanced non-destructive testing methods, mechanized access equipment, and even climbing gear. Your detailed reports will shape strategic decisions on structural safety.
- Crisis Response: Take charge in post-incident assessments to evaluate damage and act decisively, recommending measures regarding bridge closures and detours to ensure public safety.
- Strategic Coordination: Work seamlessly with bridge owners and regulatory bodies to orchestrate inspection schedules, manage traffic control, and facilitate access across diverse channels.
- Mentorship and Development: Elevate your team's performance through coaching, training, and providing expert advice on best practices in bridge inspection.
Who You Are:
- Educated and Certified: You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution and meet the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) qualifications.
- Experienced: With at least 5 years in complex bridge safety inspections, your expertise is undeniable.
- A Skilled Communicator: Your excellent verbal and written communication skills ensure clear and effective interaction with all stakeholders.
- A Tech-Savvy Leader: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bentley MicroStation equip you to handle technical reports and designs efficiently.
- A Dedicated Professional: Highly motivated and independent, you possess a robust work ethic and a knack for leading others.
- Inclusive and Collaborative: You're committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and reciprocal learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- DOT Inspection Team Leader approval (CT, RI, MA).
- Additional NHI coursework and certifications, particularly in NDT.
- Active engagement in continuous learning and professional development.
- PE Preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Navigate challenging environments, from steep embankments to confined spaces.
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, ensuring you're ready for the physical demands of inspection work.
