WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Bridge Inspection Team Leader - Senior Structural Engineer** to provide experienced leadership of bridge projects and mentor upcoming leaders in our New England offices, including **Boston and Worcester, MA/ Providence, RI/ Merrimack, NH/ Glastonbury, CT.** Be a part of a collaborative team of experts and contribute to projects that help shape our communities and our future.
**Your Impact**
+ Work with our Bridge/Highway Design Team on a variety of project development and design tasks.
+ Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
+ Assist in the preparation of Bridge Load Ratings
+ Work as a Team Member on Bridge Inspections
+ Assist with the development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD
+ Work as an individual or as part of a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects.
+ Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
+ Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
+ Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
+ Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
+ Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
+ Remain current in latest structural engineering techniques and practices.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
+ 7 - 10 years of experience in bridge inspection or design or other bridge related work.
+ Engineer in Training Certification (PE preferred).
+ Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
+ Demonstrated interest in structures, transportation or related field and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects.
+ Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
+ Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members.
+ Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related Undergraduate program. OR
+ Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering, or related, Masters or PhD program.
+ Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
+ A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations
