Brokerage Operation Manager - Bottomley Logistics

This individual would report directly to the Vice President of Logistics and would be responsible for daily operations of our daily growing Logistics Brokerage Division. This individual would be tasked with helping our Logistics Division team continue to grow by developing strong relationships with carriers. Lead by example and manage the daily operations giving the logistics team all the resources they need to succeed.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and manage the daily operations for al brokerage loads
  • Manage all levels of brokerage business development, account management and brokerage operations.
  • Responsible for complete P&L (Gross Margin, Revenue, OE, ROI, Daily updates).
  • Develop and manage KPI's (On-time Performance, Margin, Lane Balances).

Experience:

  • 5+ years of brokerage industry experience, familiarity with modern brokerage practices.
  • Entrepreneurial and sales mindset with experience building, leading, driving and managing rapid growth within a freight brokerage organization.
  • Experience in operations management, logistics, and staff supervision
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and McLeod logistics software
  • Previous experience in the produce or transportation industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service skills and phone etiquette
  • In-depth knowledge of brokerage operations, financial products, and industry regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in McLeod, Microsoft Office and using brokerage management and financial software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with multiple modes of transportation.
  • Experience with McCleod a plus.
  • Experience in managing multiple team members.
  • Experience in reefer freight such as produce loads.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects and delegate as necessary.
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of records.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Competent skills to produce accurate and well-presented reports.
  • Ability to operate under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Four-year College Degree.
  • A pre-existing book of customers is a plus.
  • Relationships with high-quality carriers is a plus.
