Job Description The BSA Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the oversight, supervision, and performance management of a team of assigned BSA Analysts, providing daily guidance and expertise to ensure compliance with the Bank's BSA policies and procedures as well as federal regulations. May be responsible for the supervision of teams involved with the AML system alert disposition, Due Diligence, Enhanced Due Diligence, currency transaction reporting or AML case investigations. The BSA Supervisor will be expected to participate in teamwork functions including currency transaction report preparation and filing assigned daily alerts, CDD/EDD or investigation cases and or SARs dependent on team assignment. Some additional responsibilities may include reviewing information, reporting, status reports, approvals, and escalations. This role will provide consultation to other internal parties regarding BSA, AML, OFAC, and USA Patriot Act. Reports To BSA/AML Director Primary Responsibilities Oversee the BSA/AML department's daily operational functions (CTRs, SARs, continuing SARs, AML referrals and alerts, OFAC/sanction alerts, KYC, EDDs, etc.) and provide direct support to the employees handling these functions. Acts in a lead capacity to BSA Analysts in providing daily guidance and expertise to ensure compliance with Bank's policies and procedures. Conduct, review, and evaluate findings using AML/KYC/CIP knowledge Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AML/KYC/CIP; provide direction and assistance on AML related issues/investigations Perform and assign annual EDD Reviews on high-risk customers. Performs secondary quality assurance reviews of assigned responsibility. Ensures assigned area of responsibility is completed accurately and timely. Detect and monitor suspicious activity and possible money laundering patterns. Reviews Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) by self or Analyst(s) and submits to BSA Director for filing. Responsible for assisting BSA Director in performance management and overall development and operations of staff within their assigned tasks. Evaluate performance, learning and capability to identify special training needs to increase team efficiency. Responsible for Monetary Instrument Log maintenance including reviewing and correcting. Assists the BSA Director & BSA Team when needed to submit Currency Transaction Report (CTR) to Fincen. Assists the BSA Director in compiling data for biennial Phase I and Phase II exemptions. Lend support to the completion of various risk assessments including the annual BSA/AML risk assessment, model validation threshold tuning, and audit or exam requests as needed. This includes pulling reports from systems and or request reports from other business units. Must proactively and effectively attempt to address any issues that might be escalated by business units while keeping the BSA Director informed. BSA Supervisor serves as one of the 314A and 314B contacts for the bank. Performs 314A bi-weekly searches and responds to 314B inquiries and requests. Any or all other duties as assigned. Desired Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience involving financial research, AML analytical software, AML Investigations, regulatory agency within the financial industry 2+ years of experience managing, leading, and training investigative teams within the financial industry Ability to learn and use Verafin account monitoring software and Fiserv DNA Certified Anti-Money laundering specialist (CAMS) or equivalent current professional certification(s) preferred Professional Demeanor: Demonstrating patience, composure, and positive attitude Problem Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Thinking analytically, using diverse research skills, applying past experiences to problem resolution, developing multiple resolutions, knowing how to and where to go to resolve problems Flexibility and Adeptness: Handling multiple projects and daily tasks adjust to a changing environment adept to new approaches that improve overall work efficiency and effectiveness Initiative: Identify process improvements, demonstrate a self-starter behavior and a willingness to help others, and show potential to require minimal supervision Strong proofreading skills and aptitude for high degree of precision in all work Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations impacting financial institutions Strong knowledge of BSA AML best practices and industry standards with KYC and CIP skills Excellent quantitative and analytical skills along with a focused attention to detail Collaborative and takes ownership to ensure the quality of the team's product and success Ability to influence and effect change; be viewed as a trusted advisor Strong project management skills, with the capability to prioritize multiple demands Proficiency in Microsoft office products, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, Word Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive material
