TITLE: Budget Manager/Administrative Assistant to the Director of Student Support Programs

LOCATION: Central Office and Training Center

The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS) is a nationally recognized urban school district that serves approximately 22,000 students and60+ different languages are spoken in the homes of our students. JOB GOAL: Responsible for the budgetary operations and other tasks specific to supporting the programs in Student Support Programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Meets the employment qualifications set forth by the Kansas City, Kansas Board of Education and the Kansas State Department of Education

High School Graduate or Associates Degree

Bilingual (preferred)

Secretarial Experience at the Executive level

Budgetary Experience (required)

Computer and Office Equipment

Confidentiality/Interpersonal Skills

Highly Organized

Ability to work in a high paced environment

Position Responsibilities:

Monthly Meetings and ReportingConduct monthly meetings with the Director of Student Support Programs to review budgetary overviews, successes, challenges, and proposed adjustments in alignment with the Strategic Plan.

Budget Tracking and ReportingMonitor and manage budgets for various programs led by Student Support Programs, including Counseling, Kidzone, McKinney Vento, Behavioral Health. PACT, and TCPS

Prepare and deliver monthly and/or quarterly budget reports to the Director of Student Support Programs.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Student Support Programs' guidelines, policies, and programs.

Perform daily budgetary tasks and manage accounts payable and receivable processes.

Oversee grant management, payroll, and budget planning activities.

Purchase Orders and Financial SystemsManage and maintain purchase orders for the Department of Student Support Programs.

Track and update the status of purchase orders within the financial system and database.

Ongoing Professional DevelopmentEngage in continuous training and development related to budget management tasks.

Maintain knowledge of FERPA and KORA regulations.

Administrative Support for Director of Student Support Programs Provide administrative support to the Director of Student Support Programs as required.

Type various documents, including letters, memos, minutes, purchase requests, reports, and tracking forms.

Prioritize tasks, plan work based on urgency and deadlines, and maintain an organized filing system.

Customer Service and Collaboration:Deliver exemplary customer service to parents, students, and community members.

Collaborate effectively with department staff and support team-based efforts

Plan and coordinate meetings and events as needed.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 261 days

SALARY:

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORT TO: Director of Student Support Programs

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of Education policy on evaluation.
