Job Summary

The City of St. Peters is seeking a dedicated Budget & Risk Coordinator to take the lead on preparing and analyzing the City's annual operating budget and Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). This critical role also manages the City's insured property and liability programs, ensuring effective claims management and the protection of municipal assets.

Normal Shift Time: Mon-Fri; 8:00am-5:00pm
Key Responsibilities
* Budget Management: Lead the preparation of the City's annual operating budget and CIP, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance with GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation standards.
* Financial Analysis: Monitor and evaluate the City's budget post-adoption, analyze variances, and prepare detailed financial reports and reconciliations.
* Risk Coordination: Oversee the City's property and liability insurance programs, including claims management, policy recommendations, and risk exposure analysis.
* Training & Policy Development: Train personnel on claims processes, recommend policies to mitigate risk, and collaborate with teams to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
* Customer Service: Address inquiries, concerns, and complaints from residents and stakeholders with professionalism and efficiency.
* Special Projects: Contribute to business planning, financial policy development, and special administrative projects that support the City's mission.
Minimum Requirements:
* Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
* Undergraduate degree with major course work in accounting, finance, or public ministration and two (2) years of applicable experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Thorough knowledge of computerized financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
