JOB SUMMARY:
Provides setup and support of City facilities, including staffing, security and responsiveness to facility users' needs specific to events. Performs moderate maintenance duties (plumbing, electrical, hanging pictures, etc.), as well as custodial needs throughout City facilities. Provides snow removal for the safety of patrons and employees entering or leaving City facilities. Ability to identify and assess building needs, and capture work related deficiencies on the Facilities Maintenance (FM) on-line work request system.
The salary range for this position is $20.22- $27.30 per hour with a hiring range of $20.22 - $23.76 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

This is a part-time position working less than 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Setup and arrangement of tables, chairs, canopies, various audio-visual and/or sound equipment for events.
* Provide staffing and security, locking and unlocking of facilities.
* Provide cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
* Maintain signage throughout the City.
* Operate City-owned vehicle(s) as necessary for travel and snow removal among various facilities.
* Communicate effectively and diplomatically with the public and other City staff.
* Snow removal as necessary to keep outdoor walks, steps and pathways to City facilities safe and free of hazards.
* Contribute to the positive image of the FM Division.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Moves and positions furniture, boxes and other goods for placement in different facilities
* Inventories and controls use of custodial and maintenance supplies.
* Recycles office paper, newspaper, magazine, and mixed recyclables.
* Cleans and maintains hardscapes and exterior of facilities.
* Assists other Facilities Maintenance staff and vendors as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Educations:
* High School Graduate or GED
Preferred Experience:
* Previous janitorial and customer service experience highly desirable.
Certifications:
* Must possess a valid driver's license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and must be available to work a varied schedule, including frequent night and weekend events.
* Ability to accurately follow both written and oral instructions for procedural and setup work, including the ability to find a better way to do things.
* Ability to assess multiple building needs and capture work related deficiencies on the FM on-line work request system.
* Ability to use sound judgment in customer conflict resolution and problem solving, seeking supervisor assistance when needed.
* Ability to communicate project progress routinely and effectively to customers, management, and co-workers as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Frequent moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs) and use of medium weight tools.
* Occasional strenuous to extreme physical effort that includes frequent use of heavy objects (e.g., 50+ pounds) and may also use heavy tools or require strenuous application in awkward positions.
* Frequent exposure to routine office noise and equipment.
* Occasional exposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
* Occasional exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
Considered essential personnel required to report for duty in response to community emergencies (e.g. natural disaster, fire, flood, blizzard, etc.)
