San Jose, CA Full-time $155,000.00 - $195,000.00Posted 08/01/2024Building Automation Systems Field EngineerPosition Overview The Building Automation Systems Field Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting building automation systems for commercial and industrial clients. The main objective of this role is to ensure that the systems are functioning properly and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS)Program and commission direct digital control (DDC) systemsDesign and implement control strategies for HVAC systemsSupervise and manage field BAS technicians and contractorsInterpret and analyze construction blueprints and electrical schematicsUse MS Office, Visio, and other software programs to create and edit MEP plansManage projects from conception to completion, including budget management and resource allocationProvide exceptional customer service to clients, and resolve any issues that may ariseDevelop and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and water efficiency in buildingsCreate and maintain project metrics to measure performance and goalsCollaborate with sales teams to identify new business opportunitiesEnsure compliance with all regulations and prevent fraud in all aspects of the jobQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field5+ years of experience in controls, HVAC, or a related field3+ years of experience as a supervisor or in a leadership roleKnowledge of ALC controls and TCP/IP networkingStrong understanding of construction blueprints and electrical schematicsProficient in MS Office and Windows XPExperience with Visio or other diagramming softwareExcellent communication, organization, and time management skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience with project management and customer serviceStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a teamAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing prioritiesExperience with energy efficiency, water efficiency, and serviceabilityDemonstrated creativity, performance management, and partnership skillsAbility to evaluate and manage project goals and metricsExperience with compliance and fraud preventionBenefitsVacation/PTOMedicalDentalVision401kBonusRelocationTelecommuteApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.Preferred SkillsBASDDCControlsHVACSupervisorField BASFieldMechanical EngineeringALC ControlsConstruction Blueprints
