Job Summary:
The Safety Professional will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the company's safety program, ensuring all employees and subcontractors adhere to safety protocols, and mitigating risks on commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety management and demonstrate expertise in OSHA regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and protocols for all construction projects.
- Conduct regular job site safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
- Provide safety training and orientation to all employees and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, and local regulations.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to promote a safe working environment.
- Monitor and maintain safety equipment, signage, and PPE (personal protective equipment) supplies.
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation, including daily safety reports, toolbox talks, and safety meeting minutes.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness and responsibility across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or OSHA 30 certification required.
- 3+ years of experience in construction safety, preferably in commercial construction.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, local safety laws, and construction industry safety standards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate teams.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
