Our Client, a leader in Building Automation Controls Systems is seeking Building Controls Technician to add to their growing team. The purpose of this position is to provide services related to the retro commissioning and calibration of existing control systems. This Technician will be responsible for assisting in calibration, point to point check out, programming, and testing of Direct Digital Control (DDC) building automation and control systems as directed. This is a customer facing role work from home 50% - and will involve client travel at 50% in Vermont (Monpelier, Burlington, Littleton, NH). The position pays in the $75K-$95K range based on experience, includes an annual bonus program, and a strong benefit program.
The incumbent will:
- Maintain accurate and thorough project documentation and redlines
- Complete sensor calibrations on HVAC control systems
- Complete PID loop tuning on equipment programs to optimize equipment operation
- Assist with project sub-contractors where needed, specifically test and balance contractors
- Assist the project team in the engineering of control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents
- Implement programming, graphics, and sequences of operations for Direct Digital Control (DDC) Systems.
Qualifications
- Well-rounded HVAC Technician experience 1-5 years and a strong understanding of basic HVAC technology.
- Understanding and exposure to, or training in, programming, startup and/or commissioning of Building control systems.
- Education in or Certification with any of the following: Tridium/Niagara / Distech / Alerton / Schneider Electric / Johnson Controls / Siemens / Honeywell
- Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits
- Ability to use appropriate tools, including test equipment to aid in calibration of sensors.
- Basic understanding of DDC Control Theory and Applications as related to HVAC equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred but not Required
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience with Niagara 4 workbench software
- Niagara AX or N4 certification
- Understanding of installation of controls equipment and ancillary devices/sensors

- Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs
