We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.The RoleWe have an opportunity for an Associate level building enclosure consultant to join our Forensics Practice. This individual will be responsible for the investigation of building enclosure failures and construction defects, materials and systems research, field testing, and coordinating project work with the team. Must be conscientious and creative, detail-oriented and professional with attentiveness to client communications.ResponsibilitiesManagement of building enclosure consulting projects from conception to completion, including correspondence with clients and other interested parties.On-site survey, investigation, and documentation of existing conditions, including facade assessments via suspended scaffold or industrial rope access.Field testing of various materials and assemblies, including performance testing of curtainwall and facade assemblies.Damage assessment and cause and origin investigations.Preparation of field notes and technical/investigative reports to support forensics findings.Analyzation of faí§ade performance with specialized software (i.e. loading, thermal analysis, condensation risk, geometry).Research materials and systems to determine specific project suitability and support forensic investigations.Development of drawings/specifications and performance of construction administration services.Interpretation and research of building codes and industry standards (ASTM, AAMA, etc.).Preparation of building enclosure details in 2D and 3D formats for client communication.Preparation of materials related to presentations.Review of reports, plans and specifications prepared by others.Serving as an expert witness, or supporting colleagues in this role, in various capacities, including depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.Coordination among TT's diverse technical disciplines, including structural engineering, protective design, faí§ade engineering, MEP, and sustainability, as well as, other TT offices around the US and Canada.Involvement with relevant professional organizations to promote professional development, stay up to date on new/emerging technologies, and increase TT's exposure within the building enclosure consulting and forensics community. This includes giving presentations and authoring technical articles.Build and develop client relationships to contribute to the growth of TT's Forensics practice, both technically and geographically.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture.
