Job Description:

Title: Boiler Operator

Location: 1700 North Minnesota Street New Ulm MN 56073 US(Onsite)

Duration: 04+ Month's Contract

Shift: Monday to Friday, 6 AM - 6 PM (40-hour workweek with rotating on-call schedule, may not be on-call while temp)

Pay Range $25.00 to $29.50/hr.

We are looking for a “Boiler Operator” to join one of our Fortune 500 clients.

Job Summary

A Boiler Operator is needed to manage the daily operations and infrastructure within the boiler room at a commercial/industrial facility in New Ulm, MN. The role ensures that boiler systems, chillers, and water treatment plants operate smoothly and safely. Responsibilities include performing routine rounds, monitoring system alarms, maintaining boiler certifications, and addressing any system abnormalities.

  • Boiler operation experience

  • Chiller experience

  • Air compressor knowledge

  • Responsibilities:

    • Conduct regular rounds of the boilers, chillers, and water treatment plant to ensure operational efficiency.

    • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety protocols.

    • Manage the operation of boiler systems, ensuring boilers are in the appropriate state (operating, standby, etc.).

    • Perform water testing, chemical control, and necessary actions for utility systems.

    • Monitor alarm and weather systems and take necessary action according to documented procedures.

    • Perform emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and maintain records.

    • Estimate materials and time needed for repairs; order supplies as necessary.

    • Respond promptly to emergency situations and escalate as needed.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.

    • Minimum of 4 years of related experience or trade school training.

    • Valid driver's license is required.

    • Strongly prefer candidates with boiler certifications.

    • Universal CFC certification preferred.

    • Additional certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, plumbing, or carpentry are highly desirable.

    Preferred Background:

    • Experience in commercial and industrial settings, with a solid understanding of chiller systems and their operations.
