Job SummaryThe Building, Events & Grounds Technician II is a full-time position responsible for maintaining the church facilities, ensuring cleanliness, setting up and tearing down event spaces, and performing minor repairs. This role requires evening, night, and weekend shifts, often with concurrent event responsibilities. Ideal candidates will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess reliable transportation for campus travel and general business tasks. Scheduled Hours of Operation: (subject to change based on events)
  • Sunday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Monday: OFF
  • Tuesday: 2:00 PM - 9:30 PM
  • Wednesday: 2:00 PM - 9:30 PM
  • Thursday: OFF
  • Friday: 2:00 PM - 9:30 PM
  • Saturday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Essential Functions
  • Set up and tear down event spaces as needed.
  • Assemble furniture, partitions, and fixtures as needed.
  • Conduct deep cleaning as assigned for designated areas.
  • Collaborate with the facilities team on maintenance and larger projects.
  • Manage and organize inventory in supply rooms and key areas.
  • Lock down buildings after events and report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Complete work orders and respond to support tickets promptly.
  • Ensure all campus locations meet high cleanliness and organizational standards.
  • Follow health and safety protocols to maintain compliance.
  • Set up and remove event signage as necessary.
  • Submit timely, accurate monthly reports and timesheets.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform light groundskeeping, including parking lot, walkway, and entrance cleaning, breakdown and set-up.
  • Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, walkway salting, and leaf blowing.
  • Regularly stock and replenish restroom and common area supplies.
  • Manage deliveries, ensuring proper receipt and distribution.
  • Provide emergency assistance, adhering to safety protocols for evacuations or power outages.
  • Maintain storage areas and ensure proper equipment storage.
  • Respond to emergencies and/or urgent matters as needed.
  • Complete incident report/s as needed.
  • Support furniture moving and room reconfigurations for special events.

  • Capability to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable with heights.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time role with a rotating schedule that includes night and weekend hours, set two weeks in advance based on event needs. TravelLocal travel between campuses, vendors, and hardware stores is required, with occasional travel for conferences or professional development.Education and ExperienceAn Associate's degree or certification in building and grounds maintenance is preferred, or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
