Job SummaryThis position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, and is responsible for performing custodial, groundskeeper and facility maintenance duties on building and grounds to provide a safe and clean environment for staff. The Maintenance/Custodian position requires the ability to inspect, facilities and conduct minor maintenance on the building, fixtures, furnishings and removing snow. The Maintenance/Custodian is able to troubleshoot maintenance problems; handle and coordinate repairs and renovations with the office manager that may include the coordination of services provided by outside vendors.
Job DescriptionResponsibilities:- Performs related duties and general maintenance work as required including plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, mechanical, pressure washing or related work as assigned.
- Performs general housekeeping to include clean, vacuum, sweep and sanitize building daily, including floors, restrooms, grounds, and common areas.
- Process trash removal and corrugated scraps with a compactor.
- Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift for the purpose of ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the building.
- Clears snow from entrances and walks, and spreads sand and ice melting chemicals.
- Maintain equipment in functional condition.
- Perform minor maintenance on the building
Preferred Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to frequently lift, push and slide packages that typically weigh up to 50 lbs., and may weigh up to 75 lbs.
- Physical activities necessary to perform one or more essential functions of the position.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, lift for extended periods daily
- Frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and may have to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to stand for minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week
- Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights and/or from a ladder, work from a lying down position, work with your hands above your head.
