Building Maintenance Technician / Painter

Under general supervision, performs semi-skilled building maintenance work of moderate difficulty as well as performs entry-level painting and work of considerable difficulty in all university buildings to include occupied student housing facilities. Typical Duties/ Job Duties Performs basic carpentry work; installs and repairs drywall, framing, doors, cabinets, installs finish hardware, forms and finishes concrete. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance work to University buildings, dorms, and apartments; services and adjusts doors and closers, using a variety of hand tools; replaces damaged floor, ceiling, and ceramic tile; applies grout in showers, around tile, and other locations as appropriate; installs and repairs toilet partitions. Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer using brushes, sponge, spray gun, or roller to decorate and/or protect interior and exterior building surfaces, furniture, machinery, or equipment.
