This is a Full-Time 40 Hours Weekly position with the Bureau of Human Resources and Administration (BHRA). For more information on BHRA, please visit

This position is the direct public facing representative of the State of South Dakota One-Stop located at the main front public building entrance. Successful incumbents are responsible for various duties and communications to facilitate and support one-stop operations for all agencies within the building on multiple matters. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

* assisting Director of Facilities Acquisition and Services (FAS) and Building Operations Officer with reports and documenting items concerning building operations;

* scheduling items such as travel for Director of FAS and Building operations Officer;

* performing professional and secretarial functions, including high-level clerical support, establishing and implementing procedures relative to assigned duties;

* facilitating daily mail operations for the building;

* adapting practical approaches to systems, operations, and processes;

* studying information on the nature of the problems in relation to needs and determining practical solutions;

* updating agreements and plans;

* serving as a resource or guide by advising others on how to use processes within the system;

* assisting the public and other professionals by providing information and direction to both the visiting public and state agency personnel on all items related to daily building operations and locations within the building;

* being a liaison between agencies to collect information or relay information daily;

* assisting with Fleet management items when necessary.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience in high-level clerical responsibilities and working with the general public in a professional setting is a must. Communication skills, honesty, friendly positive attitude, sense of urgency and willingness to serve others will all prove valuable to the person filling this position. This position requires hands on teamwork working with multiple state government agencies and contract employees. Additionally, work assignments require independent judgment and analysis.

Knowledge of:

* business English including grammar, spelling, and punctuation;

* computer software applications such as Microsoft outlook, word and excel;

* department rules, procedures, and functions.

* handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;

* prioritize and execute delegated tasks effectively;

* organize and coordinate activities and a variety of processes and data; and,

* work effectively with a diverse group of state agency employees and the general public.
