Position Type: Substitute/Substitute TeacherDate Posted: 8/30/2024Location: Gallup Hill SchoolDate Available: ASAPClosing Date: Open Until FilledLedyard Public Schools is seeking dedicated Building Substitute Teachers for Gallup Hill Elementary school for the 2024-2025 school year. Building substitutes will be assigned to a singular school. You will report daily to the building administrator each day while school is in session. As a building substitute teacher, you serve a vitally important function in the education of our students. Building substitute teachers are responsible for following lesson plans, supervising students, maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning and are respectful of the needs of students. Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred **(see below)
- Connecticut teaching certificate preferred
- Enthusiasm for teaching and learning
- Applicants must be 18 or older
**For educators who do not have a bachelor's degree, a district can apply for a waiver using the following steps:
- The district may submit an online application detailing the applicant's experience with school-age children.
Pay:
- The daily rate for building substitute teachers is $125.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child
