Position: Building Substitute Teacher
Reports to: William Henry Harrison High School Building Principal

We are seeking a Building Substitute Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year and beyond to join our team at William Henry Harrison High School.
Job Summary: The Substitute teacher will report every school day and be placed into a teaching assignment or be given duties around the building if no classroom position is needed. Alternate duties may include providing intervention/enrichment to small groups of students, supervision duties, or any other task deemed necessary throughout the day.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide best practice instruction.
* Establish clear standards of student conduct and maintain an orderly, productive classroom environment.
* Teach content and skills in the subject area according to the state standards and district curriculum maps, guides, etc.
* Encourage students to think independently and to express original ideas.
* Maintain professional competence through in-service educational activities provided by the district and/or in self-selected professional development activities.
* Attend staff meetings when possible.
* Perform other tasks/duties as assigned by the building administrator.
Qualifications/Characteristics:
* A positive and enthusiastic attitude - We have to work together as a team.
* Enthusiasm for the subject matter and content areas is important as well.
* Good communication & teaming skills.
* Good organization skills.
* Be a team player.
* Flexibility- Expect the unexpected. The candidate needs to have to ability to be prepared when the daily schedule/routine is interrupted.
* Proper certification required.
Education and Experience:
* Hold at least a substitute teaching license (4 year college degree needed).
* Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Degree in education definitely a PLUS!
* Certification/License in education a plus (Ohio State Certification as a Teacher).
