OrganizationBuilding OperationsPay$21.26Pay FrequencyHourlyFull Time / Part TimeFull timeJob SummaryUnder general supervision performs a variety of maintenance duties at Tulsa County facilities by performing the following duties:Job DescriptionAll candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County.Essential Job Functions
  • Performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards.
  • Performs daily/weekly facility checks.
  • Perform assigned repairs, preventative and emergency.
  • Coordinates facility maintenance needs with onsite staff.
  • Monitor and inspect equipment, computer terminals, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices, and meters to detect leaks or malfunctions and to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
  • Following standard operating procedures, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems.
  • Assists with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, and moving furniture or materials within the facility.
  • Utilizes a work order system to log activities as required.
  • Develop operation, safety, and maintenance procedures or assist in their development.
  • Perform snow removal, sand bagging, and cleaning of properties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, heating and cooling systems; of energy management systems; of Freon units; of electrical needs and requirements; of computer operated building controls and building access control systems; of the hazards and safety precautions and procedures; of automatic recording devices a manual control; and of departmental policies and procedures.Skill in various trades including plumbing, electrical, painting, heating and cooling; at operating, installing, maintaining and repair of HVAC units, compressors, pumps and motors; in analyzing and evaluating needs and requirements and in operation of pneumatic tools; and in reading blueprints and wiring diagrams.Ability to coordinate; to logically plan the order of work projects; to estimate cost of jobs; to read plans, blueprints, sketches and manufacturer's specifications; to read and record data gages and meters; and to install, operate, maintain and repair HVAC units. Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Design software, Internet software, Inventory Control software, Order Processing software, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of trade school and experience.Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of place and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Oklahoma Driver's License possessed for at least 6 monthsDefensive Driving with Tulsa County within 6 months of hired.Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
