Role Title Store & Ware Spec III Role Code 79133-SW Working Title Buildings & Grounds Generalist and College Receiving/ Delivery Clerk Work Location Albemarle - 003 Job Description Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC ) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS ).

This position supports facilities operations as required. It is responsible for receiving and distribution of items and materials delivered to the college. The incumbent transports documents, supplies, mail, and other materials to designated locations upon request or at established schedules.

**General Description of Responsibilities and Duties:**

**A. Shipping and Receiving** Compare incoming shipments with records, such as manifests, invoices, or purchase orders, to verify accuracy as per established procedures. Receive and count items and record data for accounting purposes. Sort and deliver received items. Use warehouse equipment, including forklift, hand trucks, and carts in the receipt, storage, or delivery of materials to departments, mailroom, or storage areas. Requisition and store materials to maintain appropriate level of inventory.

**B. Perform courier duties in support of the college**. Make courier runs as per defined schedule and upon special request as directed. Complete mail delivery each day to United States Post Office as per schedule.

**C. Maintain PVCC vehicles.** Monitor and maintain all departmental and pool vehicles at an appropriate level of cleanliness. Ensure that the exterior and interior of the vehicles are clean. Take vehicles to car wash to maintain appearance. Transport vehicles to and from maintenance shops.

**D. Set up and break down furniture, equipment, or other items for college events.**

**E. Designated as Essential Personnel: respond to campus contingencies** Participate in snow and ice clearing during inclement weather. Participate in other cleaning or clearing necessary to maintain campus operations during an emergency or other interruption of operation.

**F. Asist and collaborate with Trade Technicians and Groundskeepers on maintenance tasks at the direction of Facilities Manager.**Assist with or perform maintenance tasks such as plumbing, painting, carpentry, filter changes.

**Special Assignments**May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

* Must have a valid drivers license and safe driving record.

* Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

* Must possess intermediate level computer skills.

* Ability to accurately maintain delivery and receiving records.

* Ability to work independently.

* Ability to interact with faculty, staff, and vendors.

* Ability to use road maps and directions and to safely operate vehicles.

* Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

* Forklift operation experience
