Assistswith teaching techniques and daily instructional processes. Provides physical assistanceto program participants to meet individual needs. Implements formal behaviorintervention procedures and assists with actual work or learning activities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Drives bus in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with Florida driving regulations and protocols. Complies with local traffic regulations. Makes daily exterior and interior safety check and records daily on prescribed forms. Cleans inside of bus daily and outside once a week. Performs a five (5) minute walk around before driving the bus. Pre-trip inspection sheet should be completed and deficiencies brought to management's attention immediately before operating vehicle. Provides for appropriate discipline and passenger safety while in route. Radios out to dispatch when there are medical or behavioral issues occurring on the bus. Transmits on a regular basis information regarding vehicle maintenance needs, tires, etc. Completes vehicle maintenance form when work is needed and submits to management. Makes special trips, as assigned, in local area and outside of immediate area if requested. Conducts a post-trip inspection after clients have disembarked and vehicle is parked. Driver must physically walk to the rear of the bus to retrieve any personal belongings, address any messes/spills left behind, and to ensure all passengers have evacuated the vehicle. Any incidences observed should be reported to management immediately. Regulates heating, lighting and ventilation systems for passengers. ADT drivers must report passenger absences to the office after completing a.m. route. Reports any unusual behavioral incidents or occurrences to the Program & Services Director (or designee) in writing on an Unusual Incident Report. Reports delays or accidents to the Program Director as soon as possible. Contacts the ADT radio dispatch, or management as soon as possible when unable to drive their route. Arranges for a substitute driver, if possible, prior to contacting administration. Follows the Key Training Center Transportation Procedures and Guidelines for operation of agency vehicles. Performs other essential duties as requested or required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school graduate or equivalent certification, if over 21 years of age. Will consider other applicants, if applicant is over 21 years of age, and possesses an extraordinary commercial driving record or an extensive background as a public school bus driver. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSValid Florida Commercial Driver License (CDL) (Class A or B with P endorsement.) Current Florida Highway Patrol Non Public School Bus Drivers Certificate. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to deal courteously, tactfully and efficiently with residents, staff members and the general public.Emotional stability and maturity with a genuine interest in working with staff and residents. Knowledge of life-safety and safe driving protocols. Willingness to comply with in-service, training or other mandates, (i.e. CPR and First Aid)Must be able to pass D.O.T. driver physical.
