The Sheriff's Office has an exciting opportunity to join their team of professionals as a Business Analyst.The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is responsible for the housing, medical, mental health, court activities, and safekeeping of all persons incarcerated at the County Jail. In this role the incumbent would assist with managing contracts, billing, and supporting the increased need for technology for the delivery of services in order to meet the demands of increased legal mandates. Under direction, classes in this series perform professional-level duties in the application of information technology to improve County departmental business and administrative processes; reviews business functions and strategies; identifies, proposes, and implements business process changes; collects and analyzes operational and systems data, and performs other duties as required.The current vacancy is a limited term position. Employees in limited term positions receive benefits equivalent to permanent full-time employees, therefore will be eligible to earn vacation, sick leave, health, and pension benefits. The sunset date for this limited term position is June 30, 2026. This recruitment may also be used to fill future permanent, substitute, limited term, and temporary positions, both full-time and part-time throughout the County.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience: A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:Business Systems Analyst I: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems AND one year of experience involving business process analysis, systems planning, information systems, and/or project management.Business Systems Analyst II: In addition to the above, two years of experience equivalent to a Business Systems Analyst I with the County of San Luis Obispo.Business Systems Analyst III: In addition, one year of experience equivalent to a Business Systems Analyst II.Licenses and Certificates: Certain positions within this classification may require driving.
