SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of an Information Technology (IT) management, the Business Analyst (BA) works with RIMI departments and external partners on projects and initiatives to identify and document business requirements for clinical and business processes. By leading the requirements gathering process the BA will ensure that the future state workflow and solutions developed meet requirements in an efficient way and leverages technology in a cost-effective manner. The BA will perform analysis (what are the business needs) in a technology-agnostic way to ensure that the solution is not sub-optimally deployed to meet limitations of technology as this reduces efficiency. The process will start with a current state analysis to identify how the activity is executed today and opportunities for improvement. The next step will be to document business requirements both visually and textually with clear and concise statements. The BA will work closely with users throughout. Using the documentation created, the BA will work internally in IT to determine if existing process and technology can be leveraged to meet the needs. Should it be decided that new technology needs to be acquired, the BA will lead the process to identify potential solutions and coordinate demonstrations. A scorecard based on the requirements and their priority will be used to score each vendor to, as objectively as possible, identify the best solution. The BA will interact with users that range from clinicians and C-level executives to individual departments. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzes workflows through collaboration with users to determine potential process improvements and the best means to utilize technology to optimize the process. Ability to get to the root of a problem and determine details through repeated and thoughtful questions. Employ methods to develop a deep knowledge of RIMI business and clinical flows including asking the right questions to fully understand what how they work and why. Facilitate and drive current state, business process and business requirements analysis sessions with users; this includes initial sessions and iterative reviews. Exhibit a passion for process analysis and problem solving. Ensure there is process and technology deployment vision for clinical and business techniques that align to department and organizational objectives. Participate in the process to assess new technologies by soliciting requirements and using scorecards and tools to, as objectively as possible, help RIMI IT and users assess potential solutions. Manage the documentation of current state, business requirements, deployment/roadmap and project plan. Provides input into the evaluation of new technical proposals to determine their appropriateness and compatibility to RIMI's operations when needed. Help the IT staff develop project plans to implement new or enhance or upgrade existing technology through ongoing project management. Shepherd clinical and business users and IT in evaluation and prioritization of requirements resulting in deployment of improvements that maximum return on investment. Manage user feedback and respond to client concerns. Participate in proactive communication to RIMI users on IT projects. Support the IT team to implement new systems and technology by defining and documenting requirements and designing optimized technology processes. Assist other IT personnel for implementing and/or upgrading systems. Participates in the development of new interfaces and/or changes to existing interfaces. Provides input into the evaluation of new technical proposals to determine their appropriateness and compatibility to RIMI's existing operational processes as needed. Produce detailed documentation that show an exemplary attention to detail. Participate in complex multi-disciplinary projects including project planning, stakeholder communication, task completion and overall implementation. Assist with the development and maintenance of training and education materials. Perform other duties as required. BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of the healthcare environment highly preferred. Expertise in Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Office 365 and diagramming tools such as LucidChart. Expertise in facilitation skills needed to be an excellent BA. High quality analytical abilities. Practical experience generating process documentation. Excellent communicator with the ability to translate data into actionable insights; able to communicate in user-friendly language. Entrepreneurial attitude Proven capabilities in project management Proven development of innovative and impactful systems solutions EDUCATION: BS/BA required EXPERIENCE: Experience as a consultant preferred 5 plus years of experience as a Business Analyst Strong facilitation skills to engage clients and make the requirements process a great experience Experience with project management tools and techniques Six Sigma green or black belt certification preferred Several years of experience working with diverse groups and individuals at all organizational levels across multiple business areas Ability to help others identify their true business needs and prioritize them Passion for technology and ways in which technology can solve business problems Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Experience effectively expressing ideas, preparing, and presenting oral and written reports Proficient technical writing capabilities SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None Join an award-winning organization!
