Job Description We are looking for a
Business Analyst to consult with the client to define needs or problems, conduct research, perform studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyze problems to advise and make recommendations on business and technical solutions. This position will be a
full-time contract and
hybrid. Our client is requesting permission to hire an interim Business Analyst (BA) to lead and support data system modifications before QA and PROD deployment. This BA will serve as a liaison between the IT vendor and program staff to put together system requirements, develop user stories, coordinate system testing, training manuals, and SharePoint documentation management.
What You'll Do - Analyze existing program units, business process alignment with unit business functions, system analysis interfaces with their capabilities through open-ended discussions, facilitate brainstorming sessions
- Define objectives and scope of business system by creating BRDs and FRDs documents for mockups
- Gather requirements from program staff, SMEs, and end-users through meetings to understand the needs of the system
- Participate in design review meetings and translate the requirements to the IT vendor development team and guide the team when issues related to business requirements arise
- Be involved with the project team in developing project deliverables timelines
- Work closely with the leads to monitor progress and deliverables for the project
- Create Use case diagrams using MS Visio
- Gather all the required information related to the incoming data and data sources
- Create thorough data analysis documents to gather accurate data for the rewrite of the system and to eliminate bad data
- Perform Gap analysis by identifying the existing system, documenting the enhancements to meet state requirements
- Gather requirements for creating mockups for the redesign of the application.
- Draft statistical reports to assist the Director in decision-making
- Collaborate with team members to understand organizational and operational challenges
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, current, and appropriately stored
- Work closely with project managers and other team members to provide project status updates, keeping management aware of any risks, issues, or problems that may arise
- Create meeting agendas to formalize topics for discussion and share meeting minutes for review
Requirements:
- 2+ years RFP experience
- 5+ years requirement gathering
- 5+ years creating use case diagrams
- 5+ years creating meeting agendas to formalize topics and sharing meeting minutes for review
Physical Demands - Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
