Our client's ITS Division requires the services of one experienced Business Analyst technical resource, preferably with Railroad Commission Oil and Gas systems knowledge/experience for a 6-Month remote contract opportunity that is expected to extend.
This opportunity is remote, however due to the nature of the role our clients are currently only considering remote candidates that are currently residing in Texas.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will perform advanced (senior-level) business analysis work related to implementing complex, emerging technology hardware and software projects for the Mainframe Transformation Program for the client.
Duties involve using multiple methods to gather, develop, and document requirements; the review, assessment, and development of business processes; the creation and validation of user acceptance testing; and providing research and special project support to users. This role will work under limited to minimal direction, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This position will be responsible for analysis and documentation in the implementation of multiple inter-related projects, including the implementation of software applications in Software as a Service (SaaS) or Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) solutions, migration of data from the mainframe to the new systems, and the development of a Data Warehouse. The candidate will ensure that deliverables and materials are produced and maintained in accordance with established processes and procedures, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to accepted business analysis methodologies. The role may also involve assigning and/or supervising the work of others. The position will operate under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- 8 years: Business analysis experience on software development projects, including the preparation of project-related documentation.
- 8 years: Strong interpersonal, collaborative, analytical, written/verbal/presentation communication skills in English (specifically technical writing); well-versed with MS Office suite of products and prototyping/screen mock-up tools such as Visio, SnagIt.
- 8 years: Hands-on requirements elicitation; client management and technical documentation, including traceability, use cases, prototyping, and data modeling.
- 8 years: Facilitating interactive sessions with business and cross-functional teams.
- 8 years: Strong analysis experience and expertise in assessing Production Support issues to determine root cause and document items needed for data or system correction.
- 8 years: Developing/maintaining an understanding of key business drivers/impacts, assisting clients with identifying and solving business issues.
- 8 years: Facilitating analysis of business and functional requirements and design of technology specifications, working with business/functional personnel.
- 8 years: Defining functional design and systems specifications; preparing/reviewing/delivering completed packages.
- 8 years: Participating in and providing guidance to Business and Functional Units in developing and completing user acceptance testing, training, and implementation-related activities.
Preferred Job Qualifications
- 4 years: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 1 year: Familiarity with mainframe environments; SQL; Salesforce environments; Remedyforce; Core Java / J2EE development environment, and relational databases.
- 1 year: Experience with process improvement strategies and methodologies.
- 1 year: Proven ability to lead change and design more efficient processes.
- 1 year: Experience in the Oil and Gas industry as well as general compliance and enforcement-related projects as a Business Analyst.
- 1 year: Proven ability to work compatibly within multifaceted teams; resolve conflict; and deal with challenging situations.
