Linedata is seeking a skilled Business Analyst: Investment Operations to join our team in Boston. In this role, you will work closely with internal teams and clients to understand, analyze, and optimize investment operations workflows, ensuring that our solutions effectively support the operational needs of asset managers and institutional investors. You will be a key contributor to improving operational efficiency, accuracy, and compliance, ensuring that our platform meets the evolving needs of clients in the investment management industry.
About the Role - Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Requirement Gathering
- Collaborate with clients to understand their investment operations processes, including trade processing, settlements, corporate actions, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Gather, document, and analyze business requirements for investment operations, translating them into clear, actionable technical specifications for the development team.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify areas for process improvement or product enhancements, ensuring that solutions align with industry best practices and client requirements.
Product Development & Optimization
- Work closely with the product management and development teams to define, prioritize, and implement features that support investment operations workflows.
- Provide expertise in areas such as trade lifecycle management, data integration, portfolio reconciliation, and regulatory compliance.
- Guide the design and implementation of new solutions, ensuring they are optimized for performance, scalability, and compliance with industry regulations.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding their investment operations needs, providing expert guidance on platform capabilities and best practices.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate with clients during product implementations, upgrades, and enhancements to ensure successful adoption.
- Deliver client training, product demonstrations, and webinars to ensure users are proficient in using Linedata's platform.
Process Improvement & Innovation
- Identify and recommend process optimization initiatives for investment operations clients to streamline workflows, reduce operational risk, and improve data accuracy.
- Stay informed on the latest industry trends and regulatory changes that impact investment operations, helping to shape the future direction of Linedata's product offerings.
- Drive the adoption of new features and capabilities that improve operational efficiency and compliance for investment management firms.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal teams, including technology, compliance, and client services, to ensure the platform meets the operational needs of clients.
- Assist in the development of product roadmaps and ensure that new features and enhancements align with client needs and industry developments.
Skills And Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
- 3-5 years of experience in investment operations, financial services, or a business analysis role, ideally within asset management or investment management firms.
- Strong understanding of investment operations including trade lifecycle, reconciliation, corporate actions, portfolio management, and data integration.
- Experience working with financial platforms or enterprise software in the investment operations space (e.g., trade management systems, accounting systems).
- Familiarity with industry regulations (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, Basel III) and operational best practices in investment management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into actionable product requirements.
- Experience with Agile or similar development methodologies is a plus.
