At the Wausau campus, the Academic Resource Center (ARC) provides free tutoring services and has two locations for students to stop in and seek help with their courses, academic skills and performance. This will primarily be a customer service position for the ARC at both front desk locations. This position will be paid an hourly rate of $14.00, and will report to Specialist, ARC.NOTE: It is in your best interest to apply for more than one position, in the event other candidates are already being considered for this position, you want to leave your options open for other positions.You will need to re-apply at the beginning of each semester for work-study/student positions due to any school or work-study changes that may have occurred changing your status. Each semester, the applications for each position will be refreshed with new applications of those who re-apply to keep the applicant pool current for supervisors.Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Greet students and staff/faculty
  • Office duties including, but not limited to, taking phone calls, scheduling, helping students check-in with the kiosk
  • Assist with printer/copier questions and issues, finding resources, troubleshooting, and textbook/electronic check-out
  • Educate and inform students about the space, services, and guidelines
  • Connect students to tutors/coaches
  • Other special projects as assigned
  • Offering afternoon/evening hours Mondays-Thursdays in the Center for Health Sciences (CHS ARC) and/or Timberwolf Learning Commons (TLC ARC)
Minimum Qualifications Required
  • Must be an active student enrolled in at least 6 credits
  • Please note students are not permitted to work in Federal Work-Study positions during scheduled class times
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented and good communication skills
  • Experience with Starfish, Canvas, and Zoom
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
