We have a great opportunity for a Business Data Analyst to join our HOLE team. This position plays a crucial role in interpreting data and turning it into information which can offer ways to improve and grow the business. This position works closely with stakeholders to understand how data can be used to achieve those goals while also gathering information from various sources to identify patterns and trends. The position will be based at our corporate office which is centrally located at Rocky Point, overlooking the bay waters of Tampa Bay. This position is not remote and all interviews are held in person. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed data analysis, understand data structure and content, and write complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Design, build, and maintain databases and data systems, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and data management.
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Support all areas of the organization including but not limited to Sales, Operations, Supply Services, and Accounting.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders using visualization tools and reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL, Access), programming (Python, XML, JavaScript) and tools (ETL frameworks).
- Proficient in creating MS Access queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
- Expert level in MS Excel.
- Required 1+ years of experience with Cognos Analytics (v11.x); modeling, and development.
- Working knowledge of the following DBMS: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (SPSS, SAS, etc.).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be comfortable presenting ideas, solutions, and information to management and peers across the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, follow development standards, and effectively raise critical issues and provide potential solutions.
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to accomplish business objectives.
