POSITION OVERVIEW

Stateside Associates, the largest state and local government relations firm, is seeking a Business Development Associate to join the Business Development & Marketing team. This role, based in Rosslyn, Virginia, will report to the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing.

This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented, goal driven team player to work in a creative, fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment. We are seeking a positive multitasker with strong project and time management skills who works collaboratively with independent accountability.

CORE AREAS OF FOCUS AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development Operations

  • Monitoring CRM dashboards and reports for timely progress to pipeline and closing standards
  • Maintaining accurate records in CRM, performing periodic data audits and updating as needed to ensure data integrity
  • Extracting, analyzing and compiling accurate sales data for review with Vice President
  • Preparing presentation decks for periodic meetings with teams and leadership
  • Adopting position of continuous improvement within department seeking opportunities to enhance productivity and ease of work
  • Serving as a conduit of information between other Stateside departments
  • Tracking department budget in designated system and monitoring compliance to standard

Business Development Sales Support

  • Assisting account owners with prospective calls, including assembling pitches and materials, scheduling meetings and note taking
  • Acting as liaison, where appropriate, between client and account owners to facilitate meetings and follow up
  • Coordinating timely and accurate proposal preparation and presentation
  • Monitoring the prospect journey in the CRM database and following up with account owners and prospects where appropriate
  • Transitioning closed deal to Client Services Department ensuring accurate information is captured for billing and accounting purposes
  • Tracking individual and team sales achievement to goal and preparing data for reporting to leadership
  • Assist with client and prospect event details as requested

YOUR EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • A four-year degree or the equivalent is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant project management or department support experience
  • Excellent communication skills with professional demeanor and accurate grammar
  • Must be a multitasker with the ability to handle many diverse projects simultaneously
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks with a high level of initiative
  • Working knowledge of CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Monday.com) highly preferred
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and related software
  • Have a collaborative and team-oriented spirit
