Business Development Manager

Summary:
Develop and present potential hydrogen customers and opportunities, leveraging a thorough understanding of the North American energy business, including market trends, technology development, policy and competitor landscape. They primary initial focus will be on market and customer development in the transportation sector, such as heavy-duty trucking.
Job Duties
- Develop and participate in roundtable discussions and company interviews as well as attend industry conferences to identify innovative approaches to develop or increase market share.
- Identify strategic partners and collaborators to support development of the broader hydrogen ecosystem required to enable additional hydrogen adoption
- Expand and leverage your existing network to develop opportunities and make introductions as needed for team members.
- Develop and present compelling value propositions to existing and potential customers that stand out from the competition.
- Propose strategies that lead to achieving sales goals and revenue targets, while addressing potential challenges and improvement areas.
- Collaborate along business areas to ensure alignment with current and potential customer activities.
- Lead sales activities, including the development of innovative commercial offerings, contract management, execution, and delivery.
- Develop, implement, and execute the process for proposals and RFPs; manage or act as an advisor for key aspects of negotiations.
- Develop, build, and grow the sales pipeline, exceeding sales targets and deal metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in relevant field. Master's degree or MBA preferred
- 5-10 years of relevant experience with sales of energy products, or in other commodity markets, with demonstrated success closing off-take deals.
- Strong analytic skills and an understanding of the hydrogen value chain.
- Ability to collaborate with a dynamic team amid evolving nascent market conditions.
- Familiarity with key customer market segments preferred: transportation, steel, refining.
Job Requirements
- Familiarity with green energy markets, incentives, and policies in the US preferred.
- Hands-on and result-oriented leader, able to work effectively at both strategic and tactical level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with variety of technical and non-technical individuals at all levels.
- Strong relationship building skills and an entrepreneurial approach.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals.
- Able to travel domestically to meet with potential partners and clients
