Business Development Manager EnergySage is the leading renewable energy marketplace in the U.S. Our mission is to educate consumers and businesses looking to add a renewable energy energy solution to their home or business. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, the Business Development Manager is the face of the company for our installers. You will support the continual growth of our national installer network by bringing new clients to EnergySage. Your primary focus is to develop and nurture new installers and show them the value of EnergySage. We are seeking a Business Development Manager who can focus on building our installer network for multiple verticals within our company. What You'll Do:
- Own an EnergySage territory (or territories) and develop the Business Development strategies that will increase our supplier network in those areas
- Assess and improve the processes and systems associated with our BD activities (i.e. CRM, account-based marketing, etc.)
- Present our company to potential clients - outlining the EnergySage value proposition to prospective supplier partners and evaluating their fit on the platform
- Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
- Build long-term trusting relationships with clients, and ensure that they get off to a strong start when they join EnergySage
- Proactively seek new business opportunities (including strategic partnerships) in the market
- Work effectively with Schneider Electric and other manufacturer/OEM partners across the renewable energy industry
What We Look For:
- 3-5 years of experience in Business Development or in a Client-Facing role
- Direct experience in the green tech/renewable energy space preferred
- Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Ability to manage 50+ accounts and business relationships
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a high level of autonomy
- Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred)
- Build and maintain relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers in target organizations
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities
- Bias towards action; maintain determination, drive, and positive attitude, even in challenging situations
- Affinity for protecting the environment, sustainability practices, or mission-driven work
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
