We are looking for a Business Development Representative to join our team. They will be responsible for supporting the needs of the Sales team by generating leads through outbound calling campaigns. The BDR plays a critical role in qualifying and generating leads, and prospecting new customers, in addition to developing and executing sales campaigns. This position reports to the Chief Revenue Office and is a hybrid position. The territory is NY Metro and surrounding areas. The individual in this role must have excellent communication skills - in person, on the phone, and in writing. This role's primary responsibilities are lead development, client information gathering, appointment setting, and database updating. They should be able to work independently to manage multiple projects/tasks to meet required deadlines. They must maintain a solid understanding of KJ's products and services, technology tools, and corporate messaging materials. They will also complete training and education of the portfolio of products and services and maintain updates in training as new versions or options are presented. Responsibilities: Working in collaboration with marketing, account managers, and members of the sales and management team, the successful candidate will:
  • Handling of all prospect/customer lifecycle including prospecting to discovery.
  • Conducting pre-qualifying discussions with prospects over the phone or videoconference to understand the key metrics, identify the economic buyer, evaluate their decision criteria, make sure it fits into the KJ' Ideal client profile.
  • Research prospective accounts in target markets.
  • Build and maintain a consistently strong pipeline.
  • Develop great client and prospect rapport via your strong sales and interpersonal skills.
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects that have not purchased from the company in the past and are identified as new customer acquisitions.
  • Managing the sales administration functions in a role that includes opportunity/deal tracking using the CRM system.
  • Weekly reporting of personal sales metrics, reports, and communications involving personal activities and actions needed to drive leads per month.
  • Represent the company by consistently demonstrating the understanding and modeling of KJ's mission and values.

  • Experience in sales prospecting and qualifying leads (preferred)
  • Target oriented, ambitious, creative, customer focused
  • Ability to handle rejection encountered in the sales process
  • Proficient with general office applications (Outlook/Excel/Word/Teams/PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of CRM systems (preferred)
  • Enjoy working with customers and external audiences
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, and active listening
  • Skill in preparing written communications and materials
  • Self-motivated and self-driven; goal-oriented

What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years sales/prospecting experience. Experience working with an IT Managed Service Provider a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Prior experience successfully working in metrics driven environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong presentation abilities.
  • Strong understanding of company products or services and technology tools.
Targeted Annual Earnings The Targeted Annual Earnings is $85,000. This is Targeted Annual Earnings based on a base salary and commission.
