NV5 has an opportunity for a Business Development Specialist to join our rapidly-growing national technology consulting firm. As a key member of the marketing/BD department, the Business Development Specialist will work with principals, project managers, and our marketing team across the country.
The ideal candidate will be located in Washington DC or Pittsburgh PA, though we are open to other markets in the mid-Atlantic.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities Include:
- Leading the business development strategy in the Eastern United States by collaborating alongside key leadership.
- Developing, maintaining and expanding relationships with architectural partners and owner institutions.
- Identifying upcoming opportunities in advance of project release and pre-positioning with teaming partners and owners
- Monitoring industry procurement websites for architectural and engineering postings
- Strategizing with design leadership to develop teams for individual pursuits
- Coordinating with regional leadership and facilitate virtual and in person meetings with clients
- Creating detailed research folios and develop understanding/intelligence for a variety of markets, including higher education, healthcare, hospitality, workplace, civic and cultural/arts
- Conducting focused outreach for specific opportunities
- Monitoring internet for news articles, case studies and articles of interest to share with existing and potential partners
- Partnering with marketing team to develop branding content across a variety of market sectors
- Participating in local events to expand brand awareness and introduction of team expertise
- Identifying forums for leadership to engage or present as subject matter experts
- Collaborating with other NV5 divisions to share, develop and expand networks
- Developing understanding of other NV5 division services and prepare to provide appropriate introductions as necessary
- Mentoring emerging leaders with regards to business development skills and techniques
Qualifications:
An Ideal Candidate has:
- Minimum 5 years minimum experience in Business Development, 2+ in AEC industry
- Experience working as a subconsultant to architectural partners
- Experience working for a provider of professional services
- Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, PR or other related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
- Ability to manage remote work expectations and work independently
- Collaborative and team-oriented mentality
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills for effective presentations and engagements with clients
- High-level negotiation skills with regards to teaming conversations
- CRM experience (primarily Deltek Vantagepoint) and Microsoft Teams is a plus
