Description: Job Posting: Business Immigration AssociateLocation: New Haven, CTPosition OverviewOur client, a respected mid-size law firm with a focus on high-quality, sophisticated legal work and work-life balance, is seeking an experienced Business Immigration Associate to join their New Haven office. This firm offers an entrepreneurial environment, with a real path to partnership for associates who are eager to build their practice and contribute to the firm's growth.Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in employment-based immigration law, with a proven track record in:Assessing eligibility for U.S. visa status for corporate employees.Preparing and managing both nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-1/E-2, etc.) and immigrant (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3) visa petitions.Drafting complex and tailored RFE responses, PERM cases, and extraordinary ability petitions for a diverse client base across industries.Managing clients and time-sensitive caseloads independently, while working collaboratively within a team.Proactively communicating case progress to clients and supervisors, prioritizing assignments, and handling both short- and long-term tasks.Preferred Experience and SkillsCandidates with prior experience in the following areas are highly desired:Immigration/work authorization compliance and due diligence review.Customized and comprehensive immigration case analysis.Client counseling, working with an immigration case management system, and tracking billable hours.Strong analytical skills, with impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail.QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar membership.3+ years of employment-based immigration experience.Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task effectively.Benefits and CompensationSalary Range: $180K - $235K, based on experience.Bonuses: Additional compensation for exceeding billable hours expectations.Billable Hours Expectation: 1800 hours annually, with 150 hours applicable toward pro bono or DEI work.Benefits Package:Medical, dental, and life insurance.Short-term and long-term disability insurance.Commuting expense benefits plan.401(k) savings plan.4 weeks of vacation/benefit time.Why Join?This is an opportunity to engage in sophisticated, high-quality legal work within a firm that values a balanced lifestyle.
